The son of a sculptor and a ceramic designer, Eric Chang is a film director/photographer who spent his early years in his parent's workshop writing poetry, sketching with charcoals, and sculpting gypsum.

Eric was the youngest nominee of the Discovery of the Year Award, which was presented at the 10th Annual Lucie Awards held at the Beverly Hilton on October 8, 2012. Shortly after, his work series "ARLENE" became a part of Sir Elton John's and David Furnish's photography collection and many other collectors.

He has developed several bodies of works that have been made into limited edition photography books, with; The Angel’s Crest and the WET book, winning Best Art Photo Book at the HP Print Excellence Awards in 2011 and 2012 (held at the Drupa in Düsseldorf, Germany) respectively.

His short film, AEXIS, won the American Society of Cinematographers 2012 Andrew Laszlo Heritage Award for Cinematography. In 2013, his short experimental dance/fashion film film, LILITH, was screened at the Academy Awards Region 1 Finals at Portland Art Museum and was also screened again to the members of the ASC for the 2013 Harris Savides Heritage Award.
