Mario Mercado is a an entrepreneur, investor and media executive in biotechnology, biomedical engineering, and sports league venture start-up companies. He was part of the management team of MMA organization, the World Series of Fighting (WSOF), that successfully negotiated a multi-year distribution agreement with the NBC Sports Network, and serves as the league's production executive and feature producer.

As an entrepreneur and investor, Mario has co-founded 2 successful university research-based technology companies: QuatTechnologies, LLC, which has developed patented breakthrough innovative solutions for foodborne, waterborne, and environmental bacterial, fungal, and viral infections and contaminations; and Falcon Sports Biomedical Mechanical Engineering & Design Inc, that specializes in sport related concussions, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and blast-induced traumatic brain injury by researching/engineering/designing sport helmets and detection/diagnostic portable brain imaging devices. Mario presented the technologies of both companies at the New York City Emerging Technologies Summit held at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, and Mt. Sinai Hospital, respectively.

Additionally, he currently serves as the Director of Business Development of the United Nation's Young Associates Economic Development Committee.

Having wrestled for Syracuse University, and for the New York Athletic Club, Mario is the wrestling coach to many successful MMA fighters including Renzo Gracie, Igor Gracie, Gregor Gracie, Rolles Gracie, Roger Gracie, Rafael "Sapo" Nadal, and David Branch, and resides in New York City.
