Ballot, not bullet

Campaign for Afghanistan presidential election, the election that changes afghan fate once again.  Afghans are preparing to elect the new president and provincial council members next year. Eleven candidates engaged themselves to become the future president of the country and as population of the provinces, the provincial council candidates are more.

Although, the enemies of Afghanistan are trying to discredit the electoral process by calling it un-Islamic, but religious scholars condemned these words and say that is not true. It does have a basis in Islam. For example, when the second caliph, Hazrat Umar, was martyred, six sahaba (companions of the prophet), May Allah be pleased with them, consulted on the election of the next caliph of Muslims. Hazrat Abdurrahman Ibne Awf asked the meeting to give him three days so that he could consult other sahaba on the matter. Afterwards, he informed the meeting that all sahaba wanted Hazrat Osman to be the next caliph.

Every issue cannot be resolved with a bullet, particularly the issue of leadership; it needs to be decided through people’s ballot. Only a good leader can lead the nation through troubled times.

For this reason Afghans should vote for the best person who they think will serve the people and the country. We want an elected government, safety and peaceful. I call upon all my country men and women to lay down their arms get voter cards and cast your vote.

Voting is a national trust. I have already received my voter registration card, so how about you?
