Buses torched at night

Kotwali Police Sub-Inspector Mizanur Rahman said the trouble makers set the two buses on fire when they were parked and not moving between 2:30am and 3:30am on Wednesday.

The buses usually ply on the Jessore-Magura route.

The Fire service quickly controlled the blaze in one bus but then found another one set on fire barely 20 yards away.

A helper of the bus, ‘Murad’, was severely burnt in the fire that gutted the bus.

 

 

Murad was admitted to a Jessore hospital, SI Mizanur said.

BNP Chairperson called a nationwide indefinite blockade on Jan 5 after failing to carry out the party’s scheduled ‘Murder of Democracy Day’ rallies on the first anniversary of the 10th parliamentary election.

On Tuesday, six vehicles were damaged in Dhaka when they were attacked . But no one was reported injured.

Public transport along with private cars were moving as usual in the capital on Wednesday morning. No untoward incident was reported as yet.
