Crewing for Jake Leese

I managed to get a few hours of working with Jake Leese, by talking to him outside squeezebox. I enquired as to what he was doing at the time and I offered my help in the sound studio, as sound is not one of his strong skills.

I worked with Jake Leese in the sound studio on creating sounds for his pre production. We experimented with a bass guitar and pro tools. This was a great chance to get to know Jake and more about pro tools. We experimented with sounds by affecting speed and altering the reverb, this helped me and Jake understand what his first idea for his film was going to be. I took the opportunity to show him a couple of photographs from a game called ‘Dishonoured’, which helps Jake with his inspiration. In total we worked in the sound studio for a total of 3 hours, but in that time I believe that both Jake and me learnt a lot about sound in that session. I learnt more about how to effect the original sound into a twisted warped experimental sound, as this is a market I have seemed to have made for myself.

The experience of working with sound has great variety to it and the sound is only as creative as the maker. So with that I feel that Jake would want to work with me again. I guess we will have to wait and see.

TOTAL: 3 hours
