Extinct writing site: Content Caboodle and its pay per impression method for writers

Posted on at

I bet you have never heard of this writing site known as Content Caboodle.

It paid very well a few years ago.  Content Caboodle was before the era of Bubblews.

The following was an article I had written about Content Caboodle.  I just wish that we have such writing sites now.

"

I found Content Caboodle while searching for websites that accept duplicate content.

Content Caboodle is a paid article directory that uses the pay per impression method for its writers.

That means you will get paid at $3 per 1000 page views when you are new to the website.

If the quality of the articles is good enough, the payment rate increases to $4 per 1000 page views.  If you are very good at writing quality content, you can even earn $5 per 1000 page views.

Since Bukisa has stopped the pay per impression method, many writers are looking for websites that pay by page views.

The problem with many good writers is that they know how to write quality articles, but they do not know how to write for Google Adsense.

Many writers who write lousy articles, full of nonsense, can earn more in Google Adsense than writers who write informative content.

That is why they are not keen in joining Adsense revenue sharing sites.

In this case, they should consider Content Caboodle.

I have a few articles published there.  Actually only 5 articles so far.

There are a few points I like about Content Caboodle.

1.  Human editors

Every article goes through the editing process by a human editor.

Content Caboodle is very clear about what it wants, and what it does not want.  It will reject the articles if you write about private label rights articles, since it encourages writers to write their own articles.

2.  Not a new site

Content Caboodle is not a new writing site.

This site exists since 2007.  It is relatively low key.

3.  Nice layout

Content Caboodle focus on content, and not in flashy banners or advertisements.

There are limited advertisements in each web page.

4.  Page views

This is the part I like best.

Since all the five articles were duplicate content, reposted directly from Triond, I do not expect good page views.

However, I get a shock when I check my page views.  5 articles have a total of 400 page views.  That means an average of 80 page views per article.

This is a high average since I never promote the content, and they are just duplicate.  I did not bother to change a single word before uploading to Content Caboodle.

The readers do not come from search engines.  I think the reader base in Content Caboodle is large enough to account for such a high average page views.

I think the average page views would be higher if I had submitted original, searchable content in the first place.

As of now, I am rather pleased with the pay per impression method.  I hope they do not reduce the rate of payment.

5. Affiliate links

Content Caboodle allows two affiliate links in the resource box.

I do not know how effective it is to use Content Caboodle for article marketing.  None of my articles contain affiliate links at this point in time.  I may write some articles specifically for article marketing.

If you are keen to join Content Caboodle, bear in mind that it is an article directory.  It allows publishers to download your content for commercial purpose.

That means the publisher selling hair loss products can use your content as email marketing tool.

The bad news is that you do not make money from his sale.  The good news is that he has a reader base, and the readers will check out your profile in Content Caboodle, and increases your page views.

It is not hard to make the first $3 since that is the minimum pay out.

Content Caboodle does not have a writer referral program.  I think that is good for those who do not know how to get referrals.

The writers just have to concentrate on writing content, and earn money.
