HOME REMEDIES FOR WOMEN - SKIN

Posted on at

Women these days care a lot about appearance, health, and wellness in order to succumb to the pressures of society. And I don’t blame them, especially when everywhere you turn there’s something or someone telling you, you should do this or that in order to be considered ‘beautiful’, which always comes with a pretty penny of a cost.

So, you can ignore all of the pressure but I like to be realistic and like the majority of people in the world, we are influenced by our environment. That being said, here is one of many simple home remedies that can help eliminate the most common “flaw” that many women share when looking in the mirror.

Now, one of the biggest problems many women struggle with in terms of physical appearance is skin problems. One of the most common is stretch marks. Now you can go to a dermatologist and pay thousands of dollars on multiple sessions of Vbeam or fraxel laser treatments, but I prefer saving that money to feed my coffee addiction for a lifetime.

Seeing as roughly 90% of women will get stretch marks, there has to be a cheaper way. One home remedy that my friend swears by and may work for some of you is to rub in slices of potatoes on the designated area and let sit for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse off with a warm shower and exfoliate with your favorite body scrub, rinse and rub lemon juice on the area.

Depending on your skin type and strength of your exfoliator, fair warning, the lemon juice may burn ever so slightly because it is very acidic.  Afterwards, apply any stretch mark cream of your choice and cover with cling wrap overnight.

To be fair, this method does not work on everyone but it has the possibility of working miracles for certain skin types. A stronger method is to use a derma roller over the area, which can be painful (so I would use a numbing cream) since it breaks down tissue and follow with a stretch mark lotion overnight.

I hope this helps anybody who has been struggling to rid the appearance of stretch marks. If you have other home remedies, please let me know! Otherwise, keep a lookout for other great home remedies for women!
