LAST VEGAS – A PURE COMEDY

Posted on at

Every now and then, we all love to see a great movie on the big screen with some hot buttery-overly expensive-popcorn and an awesome group of friends or a love interest.

Well, I did just that over the past weekend, as I went to see the new release of the hit comedy, Last Vegas with Michael Douglas, Robert de Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline as Billy, Paddy, Archie and Sam.

Now if you haven’t heard of this Hollywood movie just yet, I’ll give you a very brief synopsis. The plot centers around three ‘elderly’, and I use that word loosely, friends who take a last trip to Las Vegas to celebrate a bachelor party for their last single friend.

After reading that synopsis, would you run with all your might to the movie and purchase a ticket to see the movie, err probably not. Which is exactly why I was very skeptical prior to watching this flick on the big screen; but I figured, at least I’ll see some great previews (which I adore!).

I even made a friendly wager with one friend regarding the “corniness level” of this particular movie because my mind was thinking, who would want to see a bunch of elderly men go crazy in Vegas? But then again…who doesn’t?

Either way, I went. Now, believe me when I tell you that this movie is very funny. Without spoiling the movie, just know that I threw my head back laughing (more like cackling) at least a dozen times while watching the movie.

To be honest, the incredible cast saved the movie. What I greatly appreciate is that the characters stick to the personalities of the actors in their other renowned films. De Niro, the tough guy with a solid heart, Morgan Freeman with his wit and incredible voice, and Douglas with his nonchalant, big-baller status.

All in all, the movie was a true comedy threw me for quite a ride. Then again, I advise you see this flick with at least one other person for a better experience. Enjoy!
