Mario Production Blog 8 - Paint fun!

I'm picking up a string of posts I was writing a few months back about a film called Mario. I'm finally getting the chance to finish this project, and will be working on it for the next few weeks.

You can read my full post here about the trials I'm been having with the paint on glass technique. It's fun but fiddly. In the mean time, here are some nice photos:

Above you can see a technique I've been using to make production easier - animating (rotoscoping in this case) the same scene a few times, once with marker on glass, the second with paint. Combined together in After Effects I think it gives a nice effect - tension between messy and neat.
