Man is living in this world from thousands of years. He constructs buildings for living and other uses. He makes homes, villages, towns, cites to live. Whit the passage of time these cities, towns and homes vanish or get destroyed. They get buried under the mud, thousands of years pass by and then man discovers them and learn from them that how the early men lived in this land, where they belonged to, what they ate, what they wore, what thy wrote and how they got destroyed or vanished.

Mohenjo-Daro in Pakistan was also one of the oldest civilization of the world. It is situated 80km from Sukkhur and 20 km from Larkana. Mohenjo-Daro is a word of Sindhi language and it means “tell of the dead”. These people lived 2600bc or 1700bc, when people all over the world lived in mud housed or in caves, these people lived in houses made of bricks. They had an advance sanitation system. Water pool in the center of the city, measuring instruments, musical instruments, and other things show that these people were highly advanced. According to the archeologists population of Mohenjo-Daro was nearly35000, farming and handicrafts were their occupation. Mohenjo-Daro was discovered by Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay in 1922, his car is preserved in the museum.

But many factors like rain, salty water, and visitors are destroying the old civilization of Sindh. It is our responsibility to preserve these ruins, if not done, gradually we will lose this 5000 old heritage. Steps have to be taken on the government level. Great nations never lets anyone ruin the ruins.
