National Cappuccino Day

Posted on at

Today, November 8th, is National Cappuccino Day.

Cappuccino is a way of serving coffee. Its name comes from the Capuchin friars, and refers to the colour of their habits.

A traditional cappuccino is made using espresso coffee and hot milk and then topped with foamed milk.

The drink may then be topped with artistic drawings, or powdered chocolate or cocoa.

Cappuccinos tended to be rather difficult to make at home due to having to foam the milk, but various hot drink machines have made it much easier.
