The Pakistan Movement is almost one century old. Since 1857 Muslims had fallen into extreme disgrace but they continued their effort to get rid of the English and Hindus at the same time. For this purpose the All India Muslim league came in to being in 1906. But the league was quite weak till 1934, when Quaid-e-Azam took over as its President. Thence forward Muslims become strong. And due to hard work of Quaid-e-Azam Muslims got their goals.              

                                      

In 1940, Lahore resolution was passed in Lahore. Due to propaganda of Hindus this resolution named as Pakistan resolution. Behind this remarkable achievement a lot of hard work of Quaid-e-Azam was hidden. At last, in result of many sacrifices and hard work Pakistan came into being in 1947.

                             

The word Pakistan is first used by a young Pakistani student in Cambridge. As he explains this word, Pakistan means land of ‘Paks’ or ‘Pious’. Later on Dr. Muhammad Iqbal use this word for an ideal land for the Muslims in his presidential address in Allahabad in 1930. After some time the Muslim league adopted it at historical meeting in Lahore in 1940. Then Muslims of subcontinent worked hard under the great leadership of Quaid-e-Azam and at last, it became a living reality.

                          

Muslims made great sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan. The great Quaid-e-Azam himself was several times attacked and threatened. Quaid-e-Azam toured the country several times attacked and worked very hard. After partition there were horrible riots. Thousand of peoples become homeless, while hundreds are killed and carried by force. Quaid-e-Azam himself worked very hard for the new state till then when his health gave up. And he became very weak and sick. And in 1948 just after achievement of Pakistan he left this mortal world and leaving his people in sorrow.His tomb is situated in Karachi, in his home town.
