National Spicy Guacamole Day

Posted on at

Today, November 14th, is National Spicy Guacamole Day.

Not to be confused with National Guacamole Day, this celebrates a particular type of guacamole.

The avocado based sauce known as guacamole that originated with the Aztecs in Mexico can be quite a bland, mild or cooling dish, or quite a spicy one, depending on what ingredients are added.

Today celebrates spicy guacamole. To make a guacamole spicy, chillies can be added to the recipe. How many, how hot and what type of chilli can vary, but they are there to spice things up. Jalapeno peppers are a common one to use.
