Now You See Me Review in 250 Words or Less

To be perfectly honest I did not fancy this movie from the trailers I had seen. I felt that this movie was going to be horribly generic, but I’m glad to say that I am surprised! A brief synopsis of ‘Now you see me’, four magicians rob a bank in front of the public and the police. Unlike any other film I have seen the group aren’t doing it for financial gain, in fact they give the money to the public.

The cast was first class with a variety of talent and experience. This allows the movie to have character depth throughout the experience. I use the word experience because that is really what this movie is all apart. Due to the subject matter the narrative twists and turns throughout. Slipping the misdirected audience through various tricks and illusions. Wonder and amazement is what magic is all about and maybe this is the first instalment in a trilogy.

With all of the creative illusions being completely possible in real life, creates a sense of witnessing something unreal. While the entire movie is explained, it still seems like the ending is hiding the final trick. The director has captured the emotions of magic and its entertaining qualities.

Overall I recommend ‘Now you see me’ as you wont be disappointed. I really do hope that 2014 is a great year for film because this might already be in my top 5 for the year.

Score: 9/10
