The Age of Adaline, it was an epic romance fantasy film, released on April 24, 2015.
I’ve been watching this movie last last week I think, and for me it was so lovely, the unpredicted life of Adaline was very terrible story.
Adaline born on 1908, she got married, had a child and became a widow. One night, she got into an accident when she was going into her parent’s house; she was driving alone when the accident happened. She suffers a car accident; she dies frigid waters and brought back to life by a lightning strike, the combination that causes her to remain 29 years old forever.
She remained 29 years old, as her daughter named Flemming grows older and older. Adaline physical appearance remained young.
And then, Adeline met someone named Ellis. They met on a party, it was like love at first sight, and then Ellis chased her even Adaline refuses, he was really determined to go out with Adaline. It was not easy for Adaline, she knew that she’s not capable of growing old, that’s why she really refuses suitors.
When the time came, her daughter told her to go out; her daughter wanted her mom to be happy.
Adaline decided go out with Ellis, they visit the tunnels containing an old boat under San Francisco, and then in the next date, Adaline went to Ellis’s apartment , they spend the night together. They spend time together to know each other more.
They go on a date to an old covered drive-in movie theater. Ellis asks Adaline to attend his parents 40-year anniversary party and she accepted it. They enter his home, and Ellis’s father called her Adaline.
A flashback explains how Ellis’s father and Adaline met, they were in a relationship before, they love each other, and actually Ellis’s father got courage by his girlfriend Adaline to follow his dream, astronomy.
It was so shocking for Ellis’s dad that his son is dating his dad’s old girlfriend. Adaline tried to deny and hide the truth. When Ellis’s father confirmed that it was really Adaline his old girlfriend, that left her before. Adaline decided to leave Ellis, while driving; she got into an accident again that let her die, yes, Adaline died.
A meteor hits the moon in 1178, setting off the chain of events that now creates snow falling in Sonoma Country for the first time in 78 years. While freezing and helpless she dies again. An ambulance arrives and she is revived by an EMT’S defibrillator (similarity to her first death being revived by lightning strike). In the hospital, Adaline wakes up to Ellis, she decides to tell the truth to Ellis.
Sometime later, the couple Ellis and Adaline went to a New Year’s Eve party. As Adaline leaving, she sees something strange in the hallway mirror. She finds, her first gray hair, it only means that she’s starting to grow old from a long run of being young.
Apparently, a combination of the defibrillator and hypothermia from her car accident have resumed her normal aging process.
