The Golden Rules of Blogging

Posted on at

Before I started to write a blog again, I read hundreds of articles about blogging and the skills that help advance your blog beyond mediocrity. I’ve found some good articles, but most of the content was full of self-replicating rules and click bait websites. Everyone just seems to have only one thing in mind, MONEY. The same content repeated all over again, with different wording and It really surprised me how strongly everything seemed to work around the money. The article’s main message was “how making money on blogging” and I think that has nothing to do with the golden rules.

blogging

I believe that the most important thing in writing is to blog for yourself and that you enjoy writing. Give yourself time and just write what comes into your head. There is no right or wrong thing to write and you don’t need to publish it if you don’t feel comfortable publishing it. Just forget the rules of blogging and write more content and find your true passion for writing. You can always edit a bad page and learn more about the rules, but you can’t edit a blank page and passion for writing is not something you can learn. Your blog is like a small tree and everytime you write something it makes your roots grow deeper. The deeper your roots go, higher your tree will grow, but the tree will not be likely to produce fruit as early as if you buy a young tree. Don’t forget to shower your tree with a fresh post or it will slowly die. Let time be your ally and patience be your friend.

rules

To be honest, I’m still struggling with my writing, and I feel sometimes that I’m wasting my time. Also, I’m not a native speaker of English, and neither a language expert, but every day I feel like I’m developing my writing skills one step at a time. My goals give me the motivation to keep moving forward and even when things feel impossible. I’m still at the beginning of my journey, but I’m learning every step of the way. Now I need to grow my roots before my small tree will begin to grow.
