Vermont's GMO Labeling Law Upheld

Posted on at

"On Monday Judge Christina Reiss rejected a motion from industrial food companies asking Vermont to stop implementation of the state’s GMO labeling law."

We risk forgetting, as we try to put away some of the superstitions of the past, that simply because something says "science" does not mean it should be part of our future. The fact is that companies like Monsanto, and others that have been fighting laws like the one in Vermont, have certainly been acting like they know they're doing something wrong. So it is probably safe to say that they are. The people have a right to know what is in their food. Tragically, corporate conglomerates have already badly damaged most people's relationship to foods, and the effects on public health have been a disaster. There is no reason to trust them going forward, if for no other reason than they they are not acting trustworthy.
