If you are new to online freelancing, and you want to know the ways on how to find writing jobs, then read on.

Ways on How To Find Writing Jobs Online

Legitimate writing jobs are hard to come by but fret not. There are ways on how to find writing jobs online

  • First, create your business profile

Create your business profile on different social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Twitter. Make sure to use your real name and upload a professional-looking photo. Include all necessary details like contact number, email address and the services you are offering. Write a short biography and the reason why they should hire you. And lastly, make an online presence. Let them know that you are a freelance online writer, and you are ready to work.

  • Set up your own blog or website

Your blog or website is one of the best ways to let the whole world know that you can write. Write consistently good and relevant blog posts. There are free blogs that you can start with, but if you want to take your writing into the next level and be noticed by local and foreign clients, you need to step up your game. Find a domain provider and sign up for a web hosting service that will host your blog or website

  •  Be a guest writer

Another way to market your brand and grow your exposure as an online writer is by becoming a guest writer. Be a guest writer in different reputable blogs and do it without charge. By doing this, you will build your credibility, and people will see you as someone who is reliable and trustworthy. Moreover, it will help you gain more subscribers on your blog, and one of your subscribers may be your potential client.

  • Join online communities and connect with other writers

As an online writer, it is vital to join different online communities and connect with other writers. Joining communities online can help you learn and discover new things every day like tips on how to write an article, how to write better, and the list goes on. Don't forget to meet and interact with the members of these communities because some of them will be kind enough to share what they know, like where to get a decent writing job online. And they can even recommend you to their clients.

  • Build your portfolio

If you want to land a writing job, you need to build your portfolio. Start by writing on free blogs. You can write different topics, but if you have one particular topic in mind and you are good at it, for example, fashion, food or travel, give your 100% best in writing your blog post. Always check your grammar and spelling. You can use tools like Spin Rewriter to check if your blog post is free from plagiarism.

  • Keep sending your job applications

There are many websites where you can submit your job applications and don't ever lose hope when you can't find a job right away.  You can also check some job boards online like Contently, Freelancer, Hub staff,  Media Bistro, and Upwork for writing gigs. There is a good chance you can get a long-term client from these websites.

First, if you want to write, you need to keep an honest, unpublishable journal that nobody reads, nobody but you. Where you just put down what you think about life, what you think about things, what you think is fair and what you think is unfair. And second, you need to read. You can't be a write if you're not a reader. It's the great writers who teach  us how to write. The third thing is to write. Just write a little bit every day. Even if it's for only half an hour -- write, write, write.

Once you have gained experience as a guest blog writer, you may now check out websites that pay for blog posts. You may not get rich overnight doing this job, but it will help you gain more experience, and earn while doing the job that you love. Before you submit your application, make sure to read the website's rule and regulations, and follow instructions. You may go and visit Dorkly, Make a Living Writing and The Penny Hoarder to name some.

  • Try Cold Pitching

Cold-pitching is another way to win a potential client. All you need to do is send an email or message to your prospective client. Tell him or her something about yourself, how did you find about his or her company, the services you are offering, and how you can be an asset to his or her company. Make sure to write a convincing email subject line to catch his or her attention, and do not forget to show your social media accounts to build credibility.

  • Have a LinkedIn Profile
