Child labour is work that harms children or keeps them away from what the child needs such as going to school for a decent education, or just general play.The great gaps between the rich & the poor in recent decades have forced millions of under age children to leave school & work.

Some organisations have stated that an estimate of around 215 million children between the ages 5/17 currently work under conditions that are considered illegal, hazardous, or extremely dangerous.

These underage children work at all sorts of jobs around the world usually the reason being their families are extremely poor. The most worrying fact is that so many children are forced to work in illicit activities such as drugs trade & prostitution or other traumatic activities such as serving as a soilder.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF CHILD LABOUR??

*It threatens childrens physical, mental & emotional well being.

*Involves intolrable abuse such as child slavery, child traffiking, or other illicit activities.

*It prevents children from going to school for a education to secure their future.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF CHILD LABOUR??

*Poverty could on the high so the parents have no choice but to send their children to work.

*Unemployment on the high.I f the parents dont manage to find any jobs then they face the fact of forcing their child into employment.

*Access to free education is very limited.If parents struggle to pay for their childs or childrens education they will feel they have no choice but to expect them to work........
