Why Smokers Can't Stop Smoking?

Posted on at

Thousands and billions of people around the world are now addicted to smoking. They love to smoke as if they can not live without it. Although many have  tried to quit but failed in many ways in their attempts because they lack the power to resist their cravings to smoke. So what is in the cigarette that made it difficult for a smoker to quit smoking?

Let me tell you that cigarette contains nicotine. Nicotine is a chemical substance present in the cigarette you smoke today. I has been studied that this substance is addicting. Nicotine made the smoker crave for more to satisfy and make his of her feeling normal. So, if at first you can just consume one stick of cigarette per day, just expect if you don't quit now, you will find yourself consuming one pack or two packs of cigarettes per day few months from now. That is how powerful nicotine is. And mind you, nicotine is detrimental to your health. I am just talking about nicotine here; there are a lot of chemical substances which can be inhaled when we smoke. All these substances are dangerous. So if you love yourself, I would strongly recommend that you all avoid smoking.

The scripture has something to say for all of us: "...know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in  you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?."(1 Corinthians 6:19) So, if you do respect the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is "YOU", then don't smoke. And for those who have been smoking, you still have chance to make changes in your lifestyle. Just make a strong decision to quit smoking and never give up when you are tempted to go back. "...Be strong and be of good courage; be not afraid nor be dismayed; for the  Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.". (Joshua 1:9)
