Underneath its veneer of humour this is a serious film. It is a celebration of humour as a human trait, and recognises that for many of us it is our greatest protection against life’s adversities. It also allows us to contemplate our difficulty in finding meaning and forming an understanding of the complex world we live in, and plunges us into a situation of highly-crafted absurdity.
