The Sweet Vinessa Shaw Talks About “Side Effects”

Uploaded on Thursday 7 February 2013

DESCRIPTION

You may remember Vinessa Shaw in the Disney Halloween-themed film from 1993 called “Hocus Focus,” or in the 1999 Stanley Kubrick film “Eyes Wide Shut.” Shaw has a knack for being memorable in the films she’s in, and in “Side Effects,” she plays Deirdre Banks, the wife of Dr. Banks (Jude Law). I loved meeting Miss Vinessa, she’s sweet and down-to-earth. In this interview, we talked about:

*** How she got involved to making “Side Effects”
*** Working with Steven Soderbergh
*** What attracted her to her character Deirdre Banks
*** Her initial reaction to Scott Z. Burns’ script
*** The film stars with blood and ends with tears
*** Working with Jude Law
*** The film’s superficial pill culture – the Bitter Pill – but look inside and it’s about human frailties
*** What makes her happy?
