Quezon Province is where my mom's side of the family was born and raised, but they have to move to Manila so my grandfather can provide a better life for his family. I have been to Quezon Province for countless of times. However, I have never had the chance to check out the whole place because the time I usually spend on a vacation is limited. The last time I went to Quezon Province is during the Pahiyas Festival way back in 2012. This year, I am planning to get back.

10 Places To Visit in Quezon Province

Quezon is a province in the region of Calabarzon. Tourism is still minor, but it is a growing sector of the province's economy. Here are 10 places to visit in Quezon Province

  •  Cagbalete Island

Cagbalete Island, located in Mauban, Quezon, is known for white sand that is more visible specifically during low tide and has a diverse ecosystem. You will see the corals not far from the shoreline. It is accessible via a public or private boat. The sand is not as fine as Boracay's,  but it can be on par with other white sand beaches. It is the perfect place to visit if you wish to enjoy a privately-owned beach that is peaceful and away from the crowd.

  • Jomalig Island

Jomalig is an island in Quezon province that you can go to on your next holiday or vacation. It is situated at the easternmost of Polilio Group of Islands. Just a quick heads up, going to Jomalig Island is not easy. If you are from the north, you have to brave the traffic going to Real, Quezon then a boat ride going to Jomalig island which is around 5-6 hours. But, the long hours of travel are worth it once you get there. It has golden sand and hushed environment which will make you fall in love with it over and over again. With the growing number of travelers, the resorts where you can stay are expanding, too.

  • Villa Escudero

Villa Escudero is our favorite spot in Quezon. I have been to Villa Escudero for more than three times, and it is still my go-to place up to this day. It was in the 1880s when Villa Escudero was set up by Dona Claudia Marasigan and husband Don Placido Escudero. Feel the country vibe, and revel in the beauty of nature. You can do bamboo rafting, savor delicious Filipino food at the Waterfall restaurant where you will soak your feet in running water, stay in one of the well-appointed rooms, etc.

  • Hand of Jesus Shrine

Hand of Shrine Jesus is where I went to during my last visit to Quezon province. It is said to be one of the most visited in the south especially during the Lenten season. The stations of the cross are set on top of the mountain. You will pass by 14 stations on your way to the top. You will see images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary, too.

  • Ugu Bigyan Pottery

Ugu Bigya which is located in Tiaong, Quezon, is the best place to go if you appreciate pottery. Each piece is handcrafted carefully and with love. They are arranged in a way which will leave you hankering. You can go here for a team or couple retreats. Make sure to give them a call to make a reservation.

But that's the glory of foreign travel, as far as I am concerned. I don't want to know what people are talking about. I can't think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything. Suddenly you are five years old again. You can't read anything, you have only the most rudimentary sense of how things work, you can't even reliably cross the street without endangering your life. Your whole existence becomes a series of interesting guesses."

  • Pahiyas Festival

Pahiyas Festival is my most favorite festival in the Philippines that is why I have decided to make it as my topic in my college thesis. Pahiyas Festival is celebrated to honor the patron saint of farmers, San Isidro de Labrador. This festival's colorful that is why local and foreign visitors flock here every May. The best part of my Pahiyas festival thesis slash trip in Lucban, Quezon is the food. Lucban Longganisa is one of the best longganisas I have ever had. Also, I love their pancit habhab. The best way to enjoy it is to eat it without the use of utensils.

  • Alibijaban Island

Alibijaban Island is located in San Andres, Quezon Province. It is rich in clear water, mangroves, and white sand. There are whale sharks in the area because it is near Bicol's Donsol which is a popular site for whale sharks. Travel time from Manila to San Andres, Quezon is 7-8 hours. If you are planning to stay overnight, make sure to buy your food and supplies. You can either rent a room or pitch a tent.

  • Puting Buhangin

Puting Buhangin is located in Pagbilao, Quezon.  It is one of the most beautiful beaches when you visit Quezon province, especially in Pagbilao Grande Island. You will be in awe with a number of white sand beaches with clear turquoise waters. Do miss the chance of visiting Kuwebang Lampas, too.

  •  Balesin Island

Located in the east of Mauban Quezon lies a paradise called Balesin Island. Balesin Island is for members only, unfortunately. But it is a great island to visit if one wants to experience a world-class vacation. Just make sure you know someone who is a member of the club. There are 7 villages in Balesin Island namely Balesin, Bali, Costa Del Sol, Mykonos, Phuket, Toscana, and Tropez.

  • Borawan Island

Borawan is another island you can pay a visit on your next trip. It is located at Burgos, Quezon Province. It is once a hidden gem, but now it already is crowded. The bed sand of Borawan Island is narrow so expect that it would be challenging to move around freely especially during peak season.
