October's "31 Days of Breast Cancer Discovery" is a series of daily informative videos in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month presented in association with Beth Israel Medical Center.  Dr. Susan K. Boolbol, the Chief of Breast Surgery, discusses a various topics about how you can reduce your risk of cancer and how to get the best medical treatment if you are diagnosed with the disease.

Dr. Boolbol talks about the changes in the field on Day 13 of the series. She explains that with new research, new forms of treatment are created. In the past a mastectomy may have seemed like the only option, however now that are other ways to prevent the spread of the disease.
