Scientifically speaking, the term superfood is not an official term that has been coined by the scientific community and that this term was coined by the food industry for marketing purposes and to influence the food industry.

The term superfood was bestowed by the food industry on foods that are rich in nutrients and that are good for the health and foods that help improve our livelihood.

Though there are many foods that can be called as such, here we will discuss the top 8 superfoods that is the best and most nutrient-rich food.

Superfood is a marketing term coined by the food industry to describe foods that are supposedly full of nutrients and that are full of health benefits. It is a term that is not supported by experts in the scientific and medical community, but it is known that this types of food are chock full of nutrients, such as antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients.

The nutritional benefits that can be obtained from this everyday ingredients are much more than other ordinary ingredients. It is full of much-needed vitamins and minerals and it can contain more than ten times nutrients than other normal ingredients, as such, it is called a superfood.

They are a source of antioxidants, which are useful in helping repair cell damages which can cause aging, as well as helps protect us from diseases. While there are many types of foods that can contain these much-needed antioxidants, these foods can sometimes be rare as well as exotic that it is not worth it in finding them in our local markets.

In here we will discuss 8 superfoods which can be easily found in our local markets, as well as our local supermarkets. Now here are 8 superfoods that you should be eating.

Moringa or Moringa oleifera is a dark green leafy vegetable that is often called "the tree of life". This is because moringa is one of the most nutrient-rich superfoods out there. It is one of the newest newcomers in the health community.

Moringa is a fast-growing, drought-resistant, deciduous tree, that is native to tropical and sub-tropical areas such as Asia, Africa, and South America. It is a tree wherein its seeds, seed pods, leaves, and crops are used in cooking, medicine, water purifying, and more.

Since it is full of so many nutrients it can be used in poverty-stricken countries to help combat malnutrition. The nutrients it contains can be seen in my previous blog, here is a quote about it.

Moringa is rich in Vitamins (such as vitamins A, Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), Pantothenic acid (B5), B6, vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), and folates (B9)), Proteins, it is one of the only known vegetables that contain a high amount of protein, and Minerals (such as Iron, Calcium, Zinc, Potassium, Manganese, Sodium, Magnesium, and Phosphorus). Moringa leaves can help in iron deficiencies since it is an iron-rich food that can provide about 31% of the needed nutritional daily value.

Turmeric is a superfood that can be found in the market as well as the local supermarket, it is often used in curries to give it that yellow color. It contains a phytonutrient called curcumin which is a wonderful source of antioxidants, as well as having anti-inflammatory properties. It can help protect us against cancer as well as prevent, heart diseases, and liver problems.

A good way to eat seaweed is to take a piece of seasoned nori, then place some rice on top of it then wrap it up into a roll. If you don't want to eat it plain like that, you can try making little sushi rolls with it by putting different fillings inside before rolling to make different sushi rolls.
