8 Uses For Banana Peels

Posted on at

Banana peels can be used in many different ways. Banana peels don't need to be simply thrown away after eating the banana. Instead try using them in the ways listed below.

1.) Teeth Whitening

Did you know that banana peels contain potassium as well as magnesium and manganese? These minerals will help remove stains in your teeth, whitening them. Use the inside of a banana peel and rub it on your teeth until there is a layer of banana paste on your teeth. Leave the paste on your teeth for a few minutes then use a toothbrush to brush the banana paste against your teeth. Brush your teeth like normal after rinsing the banana paste off of your teeth.

2.) Acne

Banana peels will help treat acne by reducing inflammation. Take a banana peel and rub it directly on your acne for about 10 minutes or so. After rubbing the banana peel on your face, leave the banana on for as long as you can. The longer you leave the banana on your acne, the more nutrients your skin will absorb. You may also leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning.

3.) Warts

You can remove a wart simply by rubbing a piece of a banana peel on your wart every night before you go to sleep. You could even tape the banana peel on overnight for better results. It may take a couple of weeks for the wart to disappear, so make sure you rub a piece of a banana peel on it every night until it disappears.

4.) Mosquito Bites

If you have itchy and swollen mosquito bites, try to relive it by rubbing a banana peel on them. It could help reduce the swelling of the bites as well as relieve some of the itch. Banana peels can also draw fluid out of the mosquito bite.

5.) Bruises

Try treating your bruise by rubbing a banana peel on it for a few minutes. Rub a banana peel on the bruise everyday to see a noticeable difference in your bruise. You will start to notice the color fading from your bruise.

6.) Wrinkles

Rub the inside of a banana peel on your wrinkles to help reduce their appearance. Bananas contain antioxidants that will help with the appearance of wrinkles as well as prevent future ones. Try to leave the banana on for a while before washing it off.

7.) Splinter Removal

Put a banana peel on your splinter, using tape to tape it down. Leave it on there for a few minutes then try to slowly ease the splinter out. The enzymes in the banana will also help heal the wound.

8.) Dry Skin

Banana peels have enzymes that will help moisturize skin. If you have dry skin, rub the inside of a banana peel on the area to hydrate and soothe it.

The next time you eat a banana, use the peel before throwing it away.
