Afghan women and their presence in public

Posted on at

Afghanistan is a developing country. Things changes rapidly here, people‘s mind changes and they changes things, customs and cultures they don’t like. Few years ago most of the people were against women’s presences in the public. They did not like women appearing in the Televisions being announcers or even being a journalist. They did not like women becoming engineers or police women as then they had to be out of the house. Thus becoming a singer was far away from the tolerance of the society and the people.

Moreover women themselves do not dare becoming police women, announcers or even journalist as they were being killed by Taliban or some other conservative party or groups. As in 2005 Taliban assassinated one journalist lady working in one of the private Televisions named Tolo. Two years after, another conservative party who were against women’s appearing in Televisions and working in the society assassinated two other young lady journalists working in the television and radio.
