Posted on at

Once again afghans went to voting boxes to elect the new president. The Presidential Elections were held along with Provincial council on 5th of April 2014. The numbers of candidates for the presidential chair were 11 people but on the day of elections the numbers gone down and made 8 candidates. While the results announced two candidates Mr. Abdullah Abdullah and Mr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai were on the top of voters. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah got 45% votes and as well Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai got 31.56% votes in the first round.

As the candidates couldn't  got fifty plus one vote, therefore the elections gone for the second round and the campaigns were tighter between the two candidates. 14 June 2014 was the day of people, because they participated in a democratic process to vote free for his/her favorite  candidate.

For the first time Afghans experienced elections with second round. Both Afghans men and women above 18 years participated in this round to specify their future fate. They hope that the upcoming government with new president ignore the past and start new life for Afghanistan. The life that people can live in, the life that people can live happily and the life that people want to live like. They hope for a peaceful Afghanistan far from darks and near with lights.
