Apple has made quick advancements with ARM chips over the past few years. The iPad Pro's A9X chip rivals Intel's low-end Core M processors in performance, which is quite impressive.
If this progress continues, it will undoubtedly add fuel to rumors claiming Apple will release ARM-based Macs in the future. For now, though, Apple will likely stick with Intel chips.
