Hello, Bitlanders! This time, I will share to all of you my favorite hobby – listening to music. Hearing music made me feel relaxed, chilling out and just have a good time. And I believe life would be so boring without music. Well obviously, I’m a music lover. I composed songs depending on my mood and of course my experiences with life and love life, maybe, and used to play it on my guitar. This excite me a lot to make this blog, and I’m loaded with so much information about how wide the scope of artificial intelligence applications is.

Well I guess most of us here would love to hear music. So please sit back and relax as we tackle on the different Artificial Intelligence applications in music.

What Is Music and How Does It Impact to Our Daily Grind?

As per Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, music is defined as “the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity.”

Music is an important part of people's way of life, as it plays a key role in religious rituals, rite of passage ceremonies, social activities, and cultural activities ranging from amateur karaoke singing to playing in an amateur funk band or singing in a community choir. People may make music as a hobby or work as a professional musician or singer.

Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time…. Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping; there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces (such as songs without instrumental accompaniment), and pieces that combine singing and instruments.

Artificial Intelligence in Music Industry

Music industry includes the individuals who create new songs and musical pieces (such as songwriters and composers), individuals who perform music (which include orchestra, jazz band and rock band musicians, singers, and conductors), individuals who record music (music producers and sound engineers), individuals who organize concert tours, and individuals who sell recordings, sheet music, and scores to customers.

Music has always been reflective of its environment – culturally, politically, and, as is increasingly the case these days, technologically.

In the music business, artificial intelligence (AI) serves as one of the most influential tools for growth, as we enter an era where humans – from artists and songwriters to A&Rs (artists and repertoire) and digital marketers in labels – will be complemented by AI in various forms. The introduction of AI will ultimately allow creatives and corporations alike to reimagine the creative process, target new fans, and identify the next set of musical stars with greater accuracy and precision than we ever imagined. We need to embrace AI as an enablement tool to shape the music business of tomorrow.

Will AI assist the musician or is it going to be the musician? Well surprisingly, the answer appears to be both, and top technology companies, music labels, and venture capital firms have already begun investing in the future of machine-created and/or -assisted music.

Final Thoughts

It's time for the industry to discuss how the technology can be used to improve quality, speed, functionality, and even drive top line revenue and creative growth in 2019 and beyond.

Many of these advancements still require a human element and will not be replacing artists any time soon. Still, the ability for this technology to adapt and learn an artist’s writing style and sound can help songwriters, producers, and artists around the world take their creativity to a whole new level, making songwriting, producing, and mixing even more competitive in the years to come. In order to stay competitive, the creatives of the future need to develop tech-savvy skills to harness these new tools that enter the market.
