BLOG #115: Ilocos Sightseeing

Posted on at

Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte are tourist destinations north of the Philippines particularly in Luzon.  There are lots of things to see and do here in these provinces.

It was September 2011 when I first went to Pagudpud.  We only spent one night and half a day in one of the resorts there.  It was the birthday of two of my friends, one of whom is from Laoag City.  It was already nighttime when we reached the resort.  We cooked and drank and ate and drank some more.  It was already early morning when we decided to call it off and had some hours of sleep.

The next day, a few of us were up early to take a dip in the sea but only for a few hours because we have to leave and visit some other places of interest.  We first visited Bangui Wind Farm located at Bangui, Ilocos Norte.   Next stop is Cape Bojeador Lighthouse located at Burgos, Ilocos Norte.  We were not able to visit Kapurpurawan Rock Formation or White Rock Formation also in Burgos because of time constraint.

We passed by Plaza Del Norte on our way to Paoay Church.  Both of which are located in Ilocos Norte.  Herencia Cafe which is near Paoay Church is famous for their Pinakbet Pizza and Bagnet Pizza and many more.

Our last stop before going home to Baguio City was in Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Walk the streets of the historical Kalye Crisologo and you will be transported back in time.
