At Action Against Hunger, we’re grateful for our amazing group of supporters. Thanks to them we were able to help more than 13 million people around the world last year and respond to emergencies like the earthquakes that devastated Nepal this spring. Some of our most dedicated supporters are members of #Team45, our group of online fundraisers. All it takes is 45 days and $45 to cure a child of malnutrition, and our team of fundraisers is committed to saving as many young lives as they can.

#Team45-ers have created all sorts of creative and innovative campaigns to fight hunger. One such campaign is Sunjay’s Break for a Cause. Sunjay is a high school student in New York who is teaching breakdancing to younger kids in order to raise funds for Action Against Hunger.

"I wanted to do something good for my community and the rest of the world,” he said of his campaign. “Kind of like community service, but with my own little spin to it.”

Sunjay was inspired by street dancers in New York City and started breakdancing four years ago. Though breakdancing isn’t an active scene where he lives, he hopes that Break for a Cause will raise awareness of break dance culture in his community. To date, Break for a Cause has raised over $1,000.

Break for a Cause is just one of the many innovative #Team45 fundraising campaigns which have raised over $100,000 in the past year, enough to treat over 2,000 children suffering from malnutrition.
