Yesterday, I learned from a college close friend that they just found out her daughter, their bunso has a congenital heart disease. It's a condition where oxygen can't circulate properly because her heart can't anymore pump oxygen if she exerts a lot of effort like when playing, running and whatsoever activity which needs energy. I can't help but cry, it was only a few months ago that we had met and enjoyed a meal at one of the fast food restaurants here in Cebu. We don't always see each other because of work and she has two children so she is busy with taking care of them. Her first born is already going to school so she has to also send him to school.
Then it was a coincidence that when I was navigating on facebook, I found a story about what Butuan Doctors Hospital had done which contributed to their daughter's unfortunate death.
Here's the story:
BUTUAN DOCTORS HOSPITAL CRUEL HOSPITAL!
Dear Friends and Relatives,
She is Yanna (Jannary Chan), my 10 year old daughter who passed away last July 16, 2014 at around 3:00am due to congestive heart failure..
At 6months old, she was already diagnosed of having congenital heart disease. Early this year, she was as well diagnosed of diabetes with kidney problem.
July 13, 2014 she was confined at San Francisco Doctors Hospital (Agusan del Sur) where she was properly monitored and cared.
July 15, 2014 we needed to transfer her to Butuan Doctors Hospital (Butuan City) due to her emergency situation and critical condition.. believing for a better medical treatment as they have more complete medical equipment.
We travelled more than an hour with an ambulance assisted by 2 nurses from San Francisco Doctors Hospital with complete medical certificate and referral. We arrived at Butuan Doctors Hospital around 8pm... rushing to admission desk.. running for my daughter's life... only to be rejected simply because my available cash on hand was only around 8,000- 10,000 and they demanded for 30,000.00 deposit on that very hour!
I can't describe and express how we felt at that time... It was really so painful... and still is...
I need to ask favour from my friends/relatives and to my PUP broadcast communications batch mates to please help me do something in any media-way about this "cruel hospital" that had caused us so much pain and sorrow..
I can not bring any more my daughter's life back.. but at least I can do something to what had happened to her...to just even lessen the pain that we are going through...
And to all friends/relatives who care, I will appreciate if you could simply share this post. It will be a lot of help.
These are the details of the Hospital:

Maraming maraming salamat po..
What's your side of the given story?
I don't know how hospitals work and what are their standard operations in attending to patients but we are talking about a critical life here and I strongly believe the girl has the right for medication at that time.
