CHICKEN AND POTATO CURRY

It is different recipe which I am going to share with you and it’s my favourite dish. In this recipe I will use sweet potatoes it’s optional you can use potatoes available to you. Potatoes with be very softy and smooth. It is for 6-7 people cooking time is approximately 40-45 minutes and is so much delicious. Give a try to this hearty dish and enjoy the restaurant style dish at home.

INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken                                                                    1kg
  • Potatoes                                                                   5-6
  • Tomatoes                                                                 2-3
  • Onion                                                                         2 medium size
  • Ginger garlic paste                                                   1 table spoon
  • All spice powder                                                       1 table spoon
  • Red chillies powder                                                  1 table spoon
  • Turmeric powder                                                      ½ table spoon
  • Salt                                                                                to taste
  • Yogurt                                                                           4-5 table spoons    
  • Cumin seeds                                                                1 table spoon
  • Cloves                                                                            2-3
  • Dry coriander                                                                1 table spoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves                                                 1 bunch
  • Green chillies                                                                  2-3 chopped
  • Oil                                                                                     5-6 table spoons

METHOD

  • Heat oil in pan, add cumin seeds, cloves and let them to pop.
  • Add chopped onion and fry it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now add chicken and fry till golden brown.
  • Add red chillies, turmeric powder, salt, potatoes and yogurt fry it.
  • Now add tomatoes and fry for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Now add 2 cup of water so that the potatoes and chicken are tender.
  • Add chopped coriander chopped green chillies and cover the pan for 4-5 minutes.
  • When potatoes are softened and chicken is completely tender turn of flame and sprinkle the all spices powder.
  • Serve with nan or rice. Garnish with green coriander and slice of ginger.
