Climate Change and its Impact

Posted on at

The Climate change or Global warming term is used to describe the gradual rise of temperature of the planet Earth. Although there is a hot debate among the people, whether the global warming is real or is it a myth. The data stated by the scientists show that the emission of increased volume of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gasses released due to burning of fossil fuels, agriculture, deforestation and other human activities results in increase of climate temperature between 0.4 to 0.8 °C over last 100 years. The results of the global warming may include a rise in the sea level due to melting of the glaciers and ice caps in the polar region. Also severe weather events like occurrence of intense storms due to deforestation and warm temperature.

The Graph shows the concentration of carbon dioxide emission region on the Planet.

Impacts of Climate Chnage

The impacts of the global warming are very harsh as it will increase the sea levels due to melting of the glaciers. Moreover, heavy rainfall and extreme weather situations like intense storm occurrence. Other changes in physical, chemical and biological processes will occur on every continent of the Earth. Other than that scientist projects extra warming and thus extra impact globally. This future warming will further impact climate change into five groups that is;

  • People
  • Fresh Water
  • Oceans
  • Ecosystem
  • Temperature
