Coco's body at Baitul Mukarram

The body of Arafat Rahman Coco, youngest son of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, has been taken to Baitul Mokarram national mosque for a Namaz-e-Janaza.

He will then be buried at the city's Banani Graveyard.

A tearful Khaleda bade farewell to her son at her Gulshan political office before that.

The body was taken there to enable the family members to have the last glimpse of the deceased.

Earlier around 11:45am, Coco's body arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in a Malaysian Airline flight.

Although he was supposed to be buried at the Banani Army Graveyard, Kalyan Party chief Maj Gen (retd) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim has said that they have been denied permission.

"As the son of a valiant freedom fighter and a former army chief, he could be buried at the Banani Army Graveyard, but the permission has not been given," said Ibrahim.

Coco, who had been living in Malaysia on parole, died of a cardiac arrest in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
