Contingency theory

Contingency theory is a further realistic approach avoiding the specificity of any methods od leading. It also rejects the thought of any specific person randomly chosen by the nature to lead a bunch of people. Rather, it suggests that all depends on the situation and the environment. Anyone coming up with the best solution to the problems at a certain time can lead well. It also depends on number of variable, which can be the man-power a leader has got, that is the quality and the efficiency of his followers, and the material found to his hand, that is the resources they have to overcome the problems.

A leader can only be a successful leader if the followers are supportive and positively respond to his call. However, he gains this support with his own skill of inspiring his followers compelling them to response to him the way he desires.
