Crewing Hours - Backspace

Hey guys,

So Im writing the blog today because I was shattered yesterday from a long but fun shoot. So yesterday Wed 26th March I was up bright and early at a time where most people are still sleeping (5am). This was so we were able to travel from Stoke-On-Trent to Stratford upon Avon.

We arrived at around 8am and begin to shoot pretty quick as we were on a tight schedule for the whole day. My role was Boom Op so by the end of the day my arms were killing (but still great fun). The first 4 scenes were very short consisting of a few shots so we got all these done fairly quickly. The funniest scene was then the actor had to dance in the middle of the high street in front of hundreds of people as there was an event on, I don't know how he did it keeping a straight face. My role through ought these shots were to get atoms as there was not any dialogue.

The biggest scene was in an apartment where two characters meet having a convocation, So this is where my job is vital because I have to make sure the mic is pointing on the correct character, I also need to make sure the shadows of the boom pole are out of shot.

We finished shooting at 5pm and then had to travel home which took about 2 hours, Meaning the whole shoot was around 12 hours.

Here are some stills taken on the shoot.
