Posted on at

NBA tip off is really near and for the Dallas Mavericks fans out there, their 2014 – 2015 training camp roster were announce and will start the practice Tuesday, September 30, 2014.

Let’s look out this year’s exciting roster.

Al Farouq Aminu – 6’9” Forward who really defends well. After losing their main defender at Small Forward Shawn Marion, expect Al Farouq Aminu to step up as he is still young and athletic. He is the main man of the Nigerian Basketball team and a former New Orleans Pelicans.

Tyson Chandler – 7’1” Center. He is a member of the 2011 championship squad. He is acquired via trade together with Raymond Felton. He’s back and promised to play more defense. He aged a bit but still a big piece for the Mavericks and an upgrade for the Center position.

Jae Crowder – 6’6” Forward that can also play the stretch 3 and 4. He improves his 3 points shooting and he is the player that will do all the dirty hard work needed by the team.

Monta Ellis – 6’3” Guard. Expect more slashing with the speedy guard Ellis. Ellis redeems his game after moving to the Mavericks. His playing style really fits the coaching style of Carlisle. Is he an all star this coming season? Let’s watch out.

Raymond Felton – 6’1” Guard. Acquired from the trade with Tyson Chandler, Felton did not play impressively with the New York Knicks with the past season. He promised to redeem his self with the Mavericks that he is still one of the elite point guards in the league.

Devin Harris – 6’3” Guard. Expect Harris to play better this coming season as he is healthier than never. He is a good combination to Monta Ellis as both have dashing quickness.

Bernard James – 6’10” Center. He is expecting to back Tyson Chandler together with Wright. He will play for the bench.

Richard Jefferson – 6’7” Forward. After not resigning Vince Carter, shooting and experienced is what Dallas Mavericks needs. He is really a good veteran signing for the Mavericks.

Ivan Johnson – 6’8” Forward/ Center. He is a former Atlanta Hawks player and scored a career high of 21 points.

Ricky Ledo – 6’7” Guard. He is the team’s legitimate shooting guard that will back up Monte Ellis.

Gal Mekel – 6’3” Guard. Expect Mekel to play more on the bench as the Mavericks is full of talented point guards. He was a two time Israeli league MVP.

Jameer Nelson – 6’3” Guard. The former Orlando Magic point guard is now the Dallas Mavericks starting point guard. Nelson addition will make the Mavericks guards one of the best in the league.

Dirk Nowitzki – 7’0” Forward/ Center. Expect more for Dirk Nowitzki. His pay cut made the Mavericks a real title contender. Expects more shooting for the German star.

Chandler Parson – 6’9” Forward. The team’s starting small forward and highest paid. The addition of Chandler Parsons makes the Mavericks a real title contender. He is an upgrade for the Small forward position for the leaving Shawn Marion and Vince Carter.

Greg Smith – 6’10” Center. He is a good defender and will back up Tyson Chandler in the Center and Forward position.

Charlie Villanueva – 6’11”. Center. A good minimum veteran signing for the Mavericks. Hope he still have gas left in the tank to help the bench of the Mavericks.

Brandan Wright – 6’10”. Center. He is one of my favorite Mavericks forward. He really improves a lot and expect high flying action and dunks as Ellis passes the ball to Wright. He also improves his defense in the past season.
