I decided to have a quick trip into Manchester earlier and was delighted to discover that it was not raining.

It is the first time for a while that I have been able to go out without getting wet.

It was far from warm, but I can live with that quite easily.

It was beginning to look as though we were not going to have a dry day for the rest of the year, so today was a real bonus.

Walking from my house to the tram is not far, but open enough to make the walk in the rain very undesirable.

Of course I expect it return to the usual rain tomorrow.
