Four Fun Facts About Crazy Rich Asians

Haha! I’m not done with the  Crazy Rich Asians yet. For obvious reason, am sure you are going to agree with me. The movie rekindles my love life.  In light of the movie Crazy Rich Asians, it does features Asians that are Rich Asians, Asians who are crazy rich, crazy, & rich. I suppose Kevin Kwan knows this for a fact, not from a fictional point of view.

Although Crazy Rich Asians is a movie to watch and make a recommendation to a friend, a loved one or a couple with relationship problems.  The title Crazy Rich Asians  does not justify how amazing the storyline is, the elaborate display of glamour, and social class differences.

All in good fate, I can’t wrap my head around the fact that I was moved by the movie Crazy Rich Asians. It is a Cinderella story with a twist. Crazy evil mother, ex-girlfriend's  and all from Prince charming Family-side.  And, oh Rachel Chu is an Asian-American. That alone is a drawback in her relationship with Prince Charming. Here are four fun facts about Crazy Rich Asians.

Critics really like Crazy Rich Asians

Rotten Tomatoes  scores measure the percentage of positive scores giving to a movie. Scores 60+ are considered fresh, while 59 below are considered rotten. Crazy Rich Asians have a 92% rating based on 299 reviews counted. This is a big step for Crazy Rich Asians on Rotten Tomatoes.

To receive this, Crazy Rich Asians has seen many positive reviews from top critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie must have appeal to these critics human nature to get good reviews.  This one has really captivated me.

Crazy Rich Asians doesn’t set out to make a big statement about inclusion, it simply tells an endearing story in an exceptional way. And in so doing, it shows how great stories cross barriers and wind up enriching the world around us

-Adam Graham

When a story is told in a correct way, it brings out the beauty, the ideology and the message it carries with a more convincing and appealing motion. This is what happened to Crazy Rich Asians. That’s why Crazy Rich Asians got good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Crazy Rich Asians is An All Asians Cast in 25 Years

Director Jon M. Chu  Romantic-Comedy crazy Rich Asians have broken the long drought of an all Asian cast movie for the past 25 years. The spell is broken with a gross $219,756,957 worldwide from a budget of $30, 000,000.

The last time Hollywood had an All-Asian cast was in 1993 The Joy Luck Club which fairly made way with a budget of $11,000,000 and a gross of $32,861,136.

It’s not about the money but is all about the cast and the message. Having an all Asian cast for the first in a quarter century is a great change from the mainstream of all British or American domination in Hollywood. It truly shows diversity in the movie industry.

Crazy Rich Asians tell the thought-provocating forsaken feeling of Asians-Americans

Perhaps Asians, Africans and other race of people living in Diaspora often feel as if we’re neither here nor there. In America and other parts of the world, xenophobia has limited the full exploitation of potentials.

Most migrants feel like outsiders, they struggle to adapt, to be accepted by the society

Your face is Chinese. You speak Chinese. But here and here… you different

The movie shines a light on a less explored idea in the world; you may look and speak like an Asian, Nigerian, American, etc. But to the natives, you are still different or an outsider. Rachel Chu was no exception. She also faced with this problem. She tries not to feel like an outsider with Nick’s family. It provocative to feel like an outsider, an outcast with people of your own race, or with humans in generals.

Crazy Rich Asians is Not Your Everyday Romantic Comedy Movie

Yes, the hype is real! Well, it is real enough for me. Yes, the movie puts smiles on my face and many faces. The movie makes you laugh, cheer you up, and make you think about your relationship and what you want with your love life. It also helps you to decide who you want to love.

There is more to Crazy Rich Asians, as it helps you cheer for the heroine, root for her love and Nick. To maybe a point of envying them, I for one feel that way though.  The movie guides your heart to what true love is, how to find true love and stick with it even if the world is falling apart.

The movie does have a better taste of music with Awkwafina, singing the soundtrack, it makes the movie very interesting in a better and lovely unimaginable way

The movie may have projected wealth, influence, luxury and glamour in the grand display, but its core message is well felt. It sparks of intriguing and ground realistic love between the rich and the poor, conventional culture of only Prince Charming can marry Fiona not Shrek.

As crazy as it may seem, it is packed with fun, colourful sites, gorgeous outfits and social class. It is a story with a heart and a terrific cast that makes the movie lovable, admirable and deserved an award.

On A Finale Note

Let’s be clear about a single fact, I’m not a core fan of Rom-Com, but I think with Crazy Rich Asians, my perspective changed. Crazy Rich Asians is a movie different and also unique from the normal cliché of Rom-Com and that just the big different it makes in the movie industry.
