The topic of saving is always faced with their children in an extremely rational way, because there are clear reflections that can result from rightly or wrongly in their education and cultural character formation. That of a "Pocket Money" can be a good opportunity to teach them the right value of money and the sacrifices that need to get it. If the family's economic situation allows it, the children are accustomed to receive a weekly allowance or monthly. Keep this practice, although it might seem expensive, it reveals a long-term educational choice and profitable.
Pocket money (preferably monthly), if well managed, is an effective form of education to money, provided to not considered it a duty but a recognition, for example for good school performance or for their contribution in some small activities house. The choices in the field of education should not let the possibility of access to the meaning of frustration and resignation to the impossibility of spending. Indeed, even more so on young people is important to transfer the sense of autonomy and independence from money, to ensure that their growth is maintained alien (as possible) to the calls of consumism to be safer and happier.

Fact, the problem occurs when the children begin to pretend fashion items that have friends: the race to the consumption generates a strong pressure from the group, who do not dress according to the fashion of the moment or not the cell is last cry automatically excluded. For young people it is difficult to assess the value of consumer goods, because they often do not have to work to pay for them. But if you want to educate their children at the expense rational is strongly recommended not to give them to borrow the credit cards or debit cards to make purchases of the parent but rather fund them with cash and set a limit on weekly or monthly basis so that slowly learn to manage themselves. Parents should explain to their children that money does not fall from the sky but is the result of work and effort, not always spoil them by giving them money for every action good or worthy, teach them the cost of living and let them know that a product on the market can have different prices and then look for the cheaper one.
It’s useful to parents that children realize the costs they have done, showing mom and dad their purchases and their parents, in this way, they realize if their child is more or less rational choices on the basis of age, or if it already has the profile of the spendthrift. Finally, do not grant more than what was agreed: in this way the children learn that there is a limit to the possibility obliged to spend and when the money is gone you just have to wait for the next "pocket money" to buy again. This will teach them to be able to give up or sacrifice something for something else and learn to manage themselves.
