Harry Potter is a fictional fantasy suite comprising seven books, written by JK Rowling between 1997 and 2007 it was translated into French by Jean-François Ménard1. It narrates the adventures of a wizard apprentice named Harry Potter and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft, led by Albus Dumbledore. The main plot of the series depicts the struggle of a young Harry Potter against black mage deemed invincible, Lord Voldemort, who killed her parents once; at the head of a clan of black magicians, the Death Eaters, Voldemort has been trying for decades to gain power over the wizarding world.

Eight hit movies (the last book was divided into two parts cinema outputs to eight months apart), as well as video games and many other products have been adapted from the series of novels.

Since the release of the first volume of the series on June 27 19972, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the books have gained great popularity, represented a commercial success and was acclaimed critique3. In June 2011, they had sold more than 450 million copies and been translated into nearly 70 languages
