Huawei’s mid-range gets a push

The mid-range is quickly becoming THE next battleground for international brands, and Chinese juggernaut Huawei is giving their mid-range assault a little boost with their new G7 Plus. The G7 Plus is the follow-up smartphone to the company’s previous G7 that was launched last year, and features a better processor and display over the previous model.

The G7 Plus sports a 5.5-inch full HD display, along with metal frame, fingerprint sensor and a 13-megapixel rear camera/5-megapixel front camera combo. Internally the G7 Plus runs Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, which is exactly the configuration of Huawei’s other mid-range phone, the G8. It’s kind of odd to see another phone from a company that’s almost identical to an earlier device (Cherry Mobile doesn’t count, because they’ve always been like that). Nevertheless, the G7 Plus should be hitting stores in China and Thailand with a listed price of RMB 2095, or Php 15.5K.
