I Still Miss My Hometown

Posted on at

My family and I moved in to a new city. The city isn't entirely strange to me. It is actually the birthplace of my parents. Conversely, we arranged vacations in the past to visit our grandparents.

I always fancied living outside my birthplace. Is it a stage in ones life to dream of leaving your hometown. In 2010, I moved to the metro because I decided to take up my masters. I remember being excited and scared at the same time. I would finally experience independence, and yet the idea of independence felt like a trap. Anyway, after a month or two I enjoyed my stay in the metro and finished my masters. I guess this was easier because I knew it was temporary and that as soon as I was done with school I was going back home. This time though is different, we are permanently displaced. New neighborhood, new ways, new lifestyle. And the more I think about it the more I feel homesick. I miss the comfort  of my old city. I miss my friends. I miss my life.

It will take sometime to get used to this  new place.
