To earn money we have to make and sell a lot of things.
We earn by exporting goods to other countries.
Good which are not made in country have to be imported from other countries which costs more.

Import and export have to be balanced.
We cannot afford to import things if we do not earn money by exporting other things.
At the moment, we import more things than we export.
Some of the things we export are rice, leather, carpet, surgical instruments and sports goods.
Some of  the things we import are raw materials, machinery, electrical goods, tea, edible oil, drugs and medicines.
We trade with many countries of the Middle East and Western Europe and with China, Japan and the USA.
