Miguel Lopez de Legaspi named one of the islands in Visayas as Isla de Fuegor or Island of Fire(now is Siquijor) why is that so? because one evening they saw the eerie lights from the enormous swarms  of fireflies that gathered in the numerous molave tree in the island.

The picture above shows a tree full of fireflies. The locals revere this tree saying that spirits reside in it.
