Juggling

So... i wanted to share something which has been driving me up the wall recently

juggling making my own video work VS working on freelance projects... does anybody have this same experience?

working with video in a more creative sense has been very rewarding for me over the years and lately i have been working on more freelance jobs for others.  These jobs vary from basic video editing, to sound design and to music videos.. I think the hardest part is coming from a space where i am 100% in control to then being semi directed to produce something someone else has the vision for.  I love that sometimes people believe i have the skills to create for them something great! but my biggest hurdle is that as soon as money is involved (other peoples) then the whole thing becomes a whole new dragon.  I know that if the shoe was on the other foot and it was me who asked someone to produce something for me i would be a lot more relaxed and confident that the artist i asked would create something with little direction, otherwise i guess i wouldn't have asked them! Does that make sense? People will pay you to create something in your style, or so i thought....  the way i work is often very intuiative, ideas develop over time, this is definitely something not good for some jobs :) so anyway, rant over.. i just needed to get that out my system!

seeya around!
