Nanga Parbat is the 9th highest peak in the world that is situated in the range of Himalaya. The height of this mountain is of about 8126 meters i.e. equal to 26660 feet. Among 8126 meters, length of 4000 meters is covered with snow and is straight upward at the angle of 90 degree. This mountain is situated in “Gilgit Baltistan” Pakistan. And local people call this mountain “Deo Mir”. It is the same place where project of Bhasha Dam is under consideration. Nanga Parbat is also called Killer Mountain because the climber of this mountain has to come with the preparation of death. No one has climbed up the mountain in the winter season. To try to reach the mountainous peak, 30 people have died.

We can divide Nanga Parbat into two parts. The lower part is called Base that is 4000 meters long, while the upper part is called Rupal Face that has the height more than 4000 meters, this part is covered with snow whole year. This is the same part where 28 dead bodies’ 0f 30 mountaineers are not found till today.

This mountain has great attraction for mountaineers even 10 foreign tourists were killed by terrorists. Now Mountaineers call this mountain by the name of “Killer Mountain”. On 22th June, 2013, unknown people killed 10 foreign tourists at the base Camp in Nanga Parbat. Before their murder, they were made stand in lines and also local guide with them and all were killed with the bullets of gun. But all the loss had to bear by Government of Pakistan, the few tourists used to come before this incident in this country of danger, had left their way to coming toward Pakistan. There are several mountainous peaks in the northern regions of Pakistan that are famous for climbing all over the world, but after 22th June 2013, no tourists had come toward Pakistan due to fear of his life, but in previous months three tourists have travelled towards Pakistan with the purpose of climbing this killer Mountain.

You will be surprise to know that no mountaineer could climb up this mountain in the winter season in the history. Nanga Parbat is surprising straight upward from earth toward sky at the angle of 90 degree. In winter this mountain is covered completely with snow, with each step, foots are slipped. That’s why, in previous years, 30 foreign tourists have lost their lives during climbing and 28 of 30 dead bodies of the tourists have not been found, while dead bodies of other 2 have been found accidently to other mountaineers after several years.
