Love of Money

Money is a root of all evil.

People who want to be rich fall in the hands of evil where in temptation and trap is strong. People’s desire to become rich leads them to destruction of their own self.

Some men in their passion for it have strayed from the faith and have come to grief amid great pain.

Earthy goods or earth treasures are things that we can see or touch; they are temporary and passing, like flowers that wither.

The earthy treasures that we describes refer to the many possessions that we work for, keep and save, and use for our benefit.

We know that these will not last forever, we cannot bring them with us beyond death. I understand that we need earthy goods because they sustain our lives.

But we should not breed greed and selfishness.
